Unser Standpunkt
An dieser Stelle sollen meine Eltern einmal persönlich zu Wort kommen:
In den letzten Tagen haben wir, neben den zahlreichen mutmachenden Nachrichten, leider auch viele negative Kommentare zu unserem Vorhaben lesen müssen ("Die wollen sich doch so nur ihren Urlaub in der Karibik finanzieren.", "Spenden sammeln für eine Delphintherapie ist armselig, man sollte lieber mal an Kinder in Afrika denken" etc.). Wir wollen uns gar nicht einzeln zu jedem (sinnlosen und wenig durchdachten) Vorwurf äußern, aber ein paar Dinge müssen wir doch mal klarstellen.
Natürlich geht es uns ausschließlich um Lenis Wohl und darum, dass sie kontinuierlich Fortschritte macht. Dafür werden unsere jetzigen Therapieformen irgendwann vielleicht nicht mehr ausreichen, sodass es nötig ist, für sie neue und außergewöhnliche Reize zu setzen, um ihr so einen Anreiz und neuen Schwung zu geben. Wir wollen nicht warten bis es soweit ist, sondern vorsorgen, denn so ein Vorhaben braucht nun mal Vorlauf.
Wir haben uns auch bewusst für die Delphintherapie auf Curacao entschieden, da diese die besten Referenzen und Erfahrungswerte von anderen Kindern aufweist. In Europa gibt es nichts Vergleichbares, dass den hohen Standards für Therapie, Arbeit mit Delphinen und ärztlicher Versorgung der Patienten gerecht wird.
